How To Use Free Images From Google

You like many others have probably wondered or worried about what free images from Google you are allowed to use on your website or blog, so I'm going to give you the low down on getting free images.

Note: It is considered illegal to use any image that holds a copyright without the owner's permission or without purchasing a license that grants that permission.  You may incur a lawsuit if you have illegally used images with out permission on your site.

The good news is that Google has a feature that helps you filter their images to only reveal those images that are Free and Labeled For Reuse.  Let's go through how it is done.

To find image labeled for reuse follow the steps below;

  1. Go to
  2. Enter the name of the image you are looking for and hit search.
  3. Click the Images option.
  4. Click the Search Tools feature.
  5. Click the Usage rights.
  6. Then select from either Labeled for reuse with modification (with modification means if you are going to change the image in some way) or Labeled for reuse

Note: The other 2 options; Labeled for noncommercial reuse and Labeled for noncommercial reuse with modification are Not permitted for commercial use.

Another Important Note: Always give credit to the person who created the image or photo like I have done below the image above.
